1st Place Residential Kitchen Design Award ASID

After living in their home for fourteen years, my clients decided it was time to start their renovation journey one room at a time. As their family has grown over time, the kitchen has become the nucleus of the home and they wanted to make gathering everyone all inclusive and as easy as possible.

A large T-shaped island extension with all-sides accessible storage was placed in the center of the kitchen. Surrounding the island with cushioned counter stools creates a warm and inviting space for friends and family to gather, truly making the kitchen where the family comes together.

Elongated herringbone laid floor moves the eye naturally into and through the space.

Symmetry used to carefully create intentional balance with the scale of the space. The addition of a professional grade range coupled with a custom luxe vent hood, we created both proper ventilation and a design focal point.

Keeping the work triangle in mind, we relocated the sink, dishwasher, and second oven to be within reach of each other while repositioning the refrigerator into the space where the double ovens were originally located.

Addition of an appliance garage keeps counters clean and helps organize kitchen life.

Pocket door revealing tailored walk-in pantry reclaimed from under stair space. Polished marble backsplash contrasts against black cabinetry and continues to the ceiling, drawing the eye up to make the space feel taller while also creating rhythm and movement.

Closed pantry pocket door packs a design punch by connecting with the herringbone floor pattern.

Removed built-in bar to create a curated art space with additional storage.

New steel and glass doors added to increase natural light and add a modern industrial style.

Custom designed metal hood mixing matte black, brushed gold, and stainless steel. The cladding elevated the design style in this kitchen.

Extra wide hardware for ease of use while contrasting gold finish created visual appeal.

Curved backs on these counter stools are a nice juxtaposition to the strong structured straight lines of he kitchen.

The use of matte black and gold is used throughout the kitchen.; bringing in modern design with warm elements.
