Serene Primary Escape

Serene Primary Escape

We love to showcase all the details that make up a design, and this primary suite is a treat for the eyes. We mixed cool-toned neutrals to create a space that feels luxurious, unique, and calming. We used pops of a soft yellow in the bedroom to bring vibrancy to the design. Hope you enjoy looking through this dreamy primary suite!

Yellow and white primary bedroom

This bedroom is all about creating a soft, inviting atmosphere while still feeling polished. We grounded the room with a calming neutrals like gray walls, white bedding, and a textured upholstered bed and then added warmth through layered fabrics and finishes.

There’s something so satisfying about the symmetry in this bedroom! This room is so calming and grounding. We used matching lamps and nightstands on either side of the bed to create that balance, and the mirrors behind them add a little sparkle and help visually widen the space.

I also love layering different shades of white and soft gray to keep things interesting. Those sunny yellow pillows? They’re the perfect way to wake up this cool-toned palette and make the whole room feel happier.

nightstands with custom lamps and mirrors

A nightstand vignette can make such a difference in how a bedroom feels. Here, the dark wood adds some contrast and grounds the lighter tones in the space. Plus the mirrored panels behind the lamps help bounce light around the room, keeping things bright even with softer tones.

The white lamp brings in a sculptural moment. This type of lamps is both functional and adds shape and texture to the space. Because the main goal of this room was to create a retreat-like bedroom, we decided to keep accessories simple, calm and intentional.

The custom curtains in this space were designed to quietly elevate the room while keeping the look soft and cohesive. We chose a subtle geometric pattern that complements the upholstered headboard without competing with it.

unique detailing on custom drapery

The light, neutral fabric filters daylight beautifully and adds that tailored, finished feel every bedroom needs. By mounting the drapery higher and wider than the window, we were able to make the ceilings feel taller and let in more light. This is one of my favorite designer tricks for creating an airy, elegant atmosphere!

One of the best details of this room is the golden yellow accent chair. It adds a cheerful burst of color without overpowering the calm palette. When you mix in a variety of textures, like the nubby fabric on the chair and the velvet pillow you get that cozy, “sink in and relax” feeling every bedroom should have.

Though striking in appearance, this geometric tile is also highly functional, because its smaller size adds traction underfoot while minimizing grout lines for easy upkeep!
