Step into a serene and sophisticated indoor-outdoor living space with natural grey tones and calming hues. One of the big priorities for this project was hosting space, and you’ll be able to see the ample ways we provided the homeowners with this! This is truly a party house for the ages!! We love how this thoughtfully designed space seamlessly blends the comfort of indoor living with the beauty of the outdoors.

This outdoor living space is a luxurious yet inviting retreat, blending modern design with natural elements. We love the amazing space this creates for hosting, from guest lounging in the soft seating to sunbathing by the pool or splashing in the water, this space lends itself perfectly for group hosting.

A row of white sun loungers lines one side of the pool, giving an old Hollywood feel. We combined the exposed wood from the deck with the modern loungers to create a unique juxtaposition for this space. The lush hill of grass and trees behind the space makes it a peaceful retreat.

A dark wooden pergola provides sun protection and outdoor kitchen space, while a neatly manicured lawn and surrounding greenery offer a lush backdrop. The dark-colored pergola holds a large fan that helps keep the air moving during hot Texas days. We added 3 barstool chairs that pull up to the concert island connected to the outdoor kitchen. The outdoor dining table has 6 chairs making it a perfect extension to the kitchen hosting space.

The area features a spacious covered patio with contemporary outdoor seating perfect for relaxation and entertaining. We added double couches and two ancient chairs around a round coffee table. This was another space that we wanted to make sure we had ample seatting opportunties for large parties! 

The space seamlessly integrates indoor comfort with outdoor leisure, making it an ideal setting for both intimate gatherings and casual lounging. We added a cozy grey rug to soften up the space and keep the tile flooring from heating up too much in the Texas sun. We know the pain of a burning food running from the pool to the couch! 

We love the organic look of this outdoor furniture. The curve on the chair with the organic wood helps solidify the natural feel of the space. It only feels natural to bring nature into your designs when creating outdoor living spaces!

This pool is the dream! It boasts three waterfall features, an elevated hot tub with a bubbling fountain, and a great shallow area for kids. We added oversized tiles around the pool to make it feel like an elevated space. In Texas, when the summer gets hot and long, we know this is the space to be!

High-end pool design makes the space feel elevated and beautiful. We love the gold details on the three cascading waterfalls. It’s those small details that make the pool design truly stand above the rest. The multi-textured stone add visual interest and brings the same design language as the space to the indoor living room. 

This living room is a stunning example of contemporary elegance, combining sleek lines and natural textures for a warm, inviting space. An abundance of natural light pours in through the floor-to-ceiling windows, which open up to the outdoor living space, seamlessly connecting the indoors with the outside. This is what we wanted to create, a space that provided both indoor and outdoor entertainment! 

The room's centerpiece is a striking floor-to-ceiling tile feature wall, housing a modern black fireplace and a mounted flat-screen television. The soft, neutral tones of the tile bring a subtle texture, perfectly complementing the light grey walls. The modern geometric light fixture draws the eye upward and adds a sculptural element to the room.

A large white sectional sofa provides comfortable seating, paired with dark armchairs that add contrast and sophistication. The square coffee table, made from natural wood, anchors the seating arrangement with its rustic appeal, creating a balanced juxtaposition between modern and organic elements.

We love all the beautiful details on these chairs, from the gold on the frame to the buttons that are on the seat and back. The side tables that sit between the chairs are at varying heights which makes unique for the space. The concrete that the side tables are made connect to the outdoor coffee table. 

A white and gold kitchen blends modern aesthetics with luxurious touches to create a timeless design. Crisp white cabinetry and smooth countertops create a bright, open ambiance, while gold accents—such as hardware, light fixtures, or faucets—add a warm, glamorous flair. The veining on the large waterfall island creates a statement in the middle of the space. We love how the light woodend island chairs ground the space. 

This harmonious pairing of white and gold delivers a refined, inviting kitchen perfect for entertaining or everyday living. We used high end appliances to outfit this space to be both functional and incredibly beautiful. This design is truly timeless. 

The open concept of this kitchen flows perfectly into the breakfast nook. With 4 chairs on the island and 6 in the breakfast nook, there are plentiful seating opportunities for those mixing and mingling around the food prep space. This is great for when the family is at home alone or having a large party, they can feel connected and like they are in a cohesive space.

This breakfast nook blends modern minimalism with an organic feel, creating an elegant yet comfortable atmosphere. A natural wood rectangular table grounds the space. Above the table, a statement chandelier provides soft illumination while serving as a focal point for the room. The wall is adorned with a large abstract painting that brings subtle color and dynamism to the space. Below the table, a textured, patterned area rug in shades of grey adds visual interest, while anchoring the dining set and softening the hardwood floor.

The result is a harmonious and welcoming entryway! 

This elegant entryway exudes modern sophistication. The back staircase is a bold and confident statement. The chrome pendant lights glisten from the ceiling. The centerpiece is a sleek console table featuring a textured gray finish, slim brass hardware, and matching brass legs that create a refined and balanced aesthetic.

This luxurious formal dining room stands across from the dramatic black staircases and is the perfect complement for its grandeur and class. The comfortable upholstered chairs create a light and clean formal living space. The rug under the table brings movement and bold blacks into the space. 

The console on the back wall is the perfect spot for storage and displays two beautiful white lamps flanking a beautiful art piece. The chrome and gold accents in this space both play together to make a complex and interesting design.

This powder bathroom is a dream!  The walls are finished with light marble-patterned surfaces, adding a touch of sophistication and a seamless, luxurious look. The sleek, pedestal sink is paired with matte brass fixtures, which introduces a warm metallic contrast to the cool-toned walls. Above the sink, a rounded frame adds a stylish and contemporary flair. This space is clean, classic, and timeless!

This serene primary bedroom offers a harmonious blend of contemporary sophistication and tranquil comfort. The focal point is the stunning four-poster bed, featuring a hammered metal frame that brings texture and subtle shine to the room.

Upholstered in crisp white, the bed is adorned with layers of plush pillows in a mix of geometric patterns and soft neutrals, creating an inviting and restful ambiance. Two modern side tables in a gray wood finish with marble tops anchor the bed, adding a touch of understated luxury. Each is paired with a contemporary white lamp featuring geometric metal detailing, reinforcing the room’s sophisticated aesthetic.

We are in love with the hammered metal frame that brings texture and subtle shine to the room. The details are really everything and we love how unique textures makes the space so personal. 

These chairs, are positioned near a sleek white dresser adorned with minimalistic decor, balance style, and functionality. Subtle greenery in the form of a potted plant and floral arrangements further enhances the room’s serene, organic vibe.

The seating area, defined by two chic armchairs upholstered in a muted blue hue, invites relaxation and doubles as a functional space for morning coffee or quiet reading. We love how the curved of the arms and seat make the space smooth and clean. The natural light streaming through the wide-set windows with their sleek white plantation shutters creates a beautiful glow from this side of the room. 

The dramatic primary bathroom is the perfect place to relax and unwind. The oversized tub with its rounded edges brights movement to the space and serves as the central point in the room. The gray and white tones in this room keep it as a serene escape for the homeowner. 

The primary closet is an organizational dream. We make sure to include custom cabinetry that fits a variety of shoes, clothing, and bags. We also included a small counter area for getting ready and a jewelry display. Finally, we included a large chandelier that brings glam into the space. 

This moody media room is the perfect spot for binge-ing a season of your favorite show!! The cozy, plush couch invites you in. We added an all-wooden coffee table that is great for putting drinks and snacks on. We did the built-in cabinetry under the TV in the same color as the wall blending it into the space.

Behind the couch is a cocktail table that is the perfect spot for chatting with a friend or sharing a meal. The relaxed look of the space makes guests feel comfortable and welcomed. 

This home office is a tranquil spot to be productive. We kept the calming neutrals we’ve used throughout the rest fo the house so the whole space flows well. The organic feel of the soft rug with the wood tones used in this space make it a cohesive, beautiful home office. Finally, we love how these shelves have a feature-like view on the top, but bring the functional storage at the bottom with shelving.

The Recovery Gym is the Pacific Northwest’s first fitness center dedicated to helping people on the path to recovery for substance use and mental health disorders, and the first of its kind—anywhere—to merge fitness, data, and mentorship to do so.” From the Recovery Gym Website. This gym is unlike we’ve ever seen in Portland, and Kevin Twitty Interiors was so excited to take part in helping people through their recovery journey! We truly believe in their mission to use physical exercise and data to help people live healthy and sober lives. So, we wanted to make it a special and inspiring space for people! 

Recovery Gym’s focus is on tailored programs based on research to help their client achieve healthy lives. They typically do CrossFit, HIIT-style classes, and personal training. They typically do CrossFit, HIIT-style classes, and personal training. For this design, we wanted to evoke a feeling of intensity and commitment. We brought in dark colors to bring contrast and used their X-shaped logo throughout the building to remind people of the gym’s mission. We keep the exposed brick on the back wall and use rubber flooring throughout.  

Space planning was a huge part of this project for us. They host multi-faceted group classes here, which means changing setups and equipment needs. CrossFit workouts change daily, so we made a space that can adapt to those changes. For example, the row machines can stand up and stack in the corner of the room leaving plenty of space for floor-based exercises. Many other details were considered when creating the layout of this space.  

We also created a hang-out space for people to build community and connect. Because this gym is focused on those recovering from substance abuse, it’s crucial to have the right people around you to be able to find sobriety. This space is where people can connect, encourage, and support each other through their journey. We used leather chairs and wood finishes for easy cleaning while still maintaining the industrial look. We also included rolling garage doors to let in air during a workout or bring the outdoors in during a casual hang in the lounge area.  

REVAMPED COMMUNITY CLUBHOUSE

The Pacific Northwest is known for its modern and innovative design, and it's time to bring that aesthetic to the community's outdated apartment clubhouse. This renovation project aimed to refresh and redesign the clubhouse into a more functional and inviting environment for residents to enjoy. With a focus on utilizing the unique qualities of shared space, the end result will be a modern and welcoming hub for the community. Say goodbye to the dull and uninviting atmosphere and hello to a space that truly reflects the beauty of the PNW and the functionality of a new clubhouse for current and future renters alike.

The clubhouse can serve as a venue for community events, such as holiday parties, movie nights, or game nights, providing residents with opportunities to participate in shared experiences and strengthen their sense of community.

Before. The space was outdated, disfunctional, and not aesthetic.

Shuffleboard is a fun and engaging recreational activity that can bring people together and promote socialization. Playing shuffleboard can help residents get to know each other, build relationships, and create a sense of community within the complex.

A community clubhouse kitchen can be a valuable resource for residents who enjoy cooking and entertaining. It can provide a space for residents to prepare meals and host potlucks, dinner parties, and other events.

A modern clubhouse serves as a central gathering place and hub of social activity, providing residents with a space to come together, build relationships, and participate in shared experiences. This can help foster a sense of community and belonging among residents, making the apartment complex feel more like a tight-knit neighborhood.

This provides residents with convenient access to recreational and functional activities, without having to leave the comfort of their own community.

Housing communities around the united stated are full of homes that builders create in order to capitalize on economies of scale. With this comes interiors that are designed with builder basic selections that do not always focus on client’s needs, desires, and functionality.  The main objectives for the updated bathroom design are to expand the functionality by introducing Universal Design principals, create a space that stays true to the home’s timeless style, layout proper lighting, and allow for future flexibility as aging occurs.

Double doors into the bathroom welcomes you into this vivid navy blue master bathroom. They also allow for proper clearance for walkers and wheelchairs.

Waterfall quartz countertops adding to the luxury design style of this bathroom. The vanity opening was made slightly wider and lower to accommodate persons of all physical abilities.

Opened design with timeless and sustainable finishes.

Tub features natural low points so getting in and out without injury will be easier.

Promoting equitable use, fixtures in shower are a combination of rain, wall, and hand-held wand.

Universal design and luxury design are not mutually exclusive. This band of marble chevron adds texture and dimension to this tone-on-tone shower design.

The sightlines from the shower allow for a view of the greenspace and is filled with natural light. Before the shower was enclosed and a dark cave.

Double vanities are broken up to allow for each person to have their own space.

Chrome hardware mixed with a custom gray stain adds the perfect amount of modern to this classically traditional master bathroom.

Bathroom accessories are intuitive and easy to use even for people with arthritis. Each fixture is also heat and pressure controlled to prevent accidental injury.

Stepping out of the bathroom shows how we coordinated the vibrant blue from the master bath with a fashion-forward master bedroom full of artistic style and coordinating pops of color.

Étagères are the perfect addition to any space. They provide a clever way to curate home objects such as books, vases, boxes, photo frames, florals, and more. Additionally, they provide height that helps draw the eye up through a space making rooms feel taller.

I love to encourage clients to have fun with their homes make exciting design statements. This lucite starburst light fixture is lit!

This is highlighting a fabulous vintage solid crystal lamp. It beautifully lets light shine through and elevates the room’s style and class.

This lucite rod with silver accents coupled with a fabulously embroidered drapery at tone, style, and texture. A pinch pleat was used to keep the space feeling clean and classic.

This close up highlights the tritone coloration of the embroidery. It helps bridge the gap between golds, silvers, and grays through the space.

Mirrors and other reflective surfaces play a key role bouncing natural light around a room. We opted for the mirror to serve two purposes; reflection and art.

Coloring outside of the lines is where clients and myself create some of the most fantastic moments in a home.

Mid-Century Modern Aesthetic

For this project, the homeowners needed a few bathrooms in their home updated. During our conversation, it was made clear the importance of preserving the mid-century modern identity they fell in love with when they purchased the home while introducing layout changes and modern updates in order for the bathrooms to meet the needs of today. I hope you enjoy the blend that was created in this home.

Modernizing this bathroom while keeping Mid-Century character was important for this homeowner. We decided to keep the vaulted wood ceiling and refinish it to make it feel new again. By adding a modern floating walnut vanity with under cabinet lighting, we elevated the space for the modern needs of today’s homeowners.

One feature of this house that I knew we had to keep was the original floor to ceiling stone fireplaces. I used this as the inspiration for the floor to ceiling modern tiles on the back wall of the shower. The homeowners and I loved how this design language transcended the decades of time between both designs.

We took out the old enclosed shower to expose the vaulted ceiling. It created a grand and airy vibe fro the bathroom. We then decided to wrap the shower in glass to allow natural light to pour in with a beautiful tree-top view.

The half wall was kept for a few reasons. One was for a little separation from the toilet and the shower and the other, more important reason, was to have a place to put a toilet paper holder.

The previous bathroom layout did not have a door from the bedroom into the bathroom. Instead, you entered through a set of doors that led into the closet. We ended up taking the original closet doors and moving them three feet to the side to provide a more functional entrance. The decisions meant sacrificing five inches of cabinet space. Well worth it.

In order to have the illusion of a larger vanity, we decided to place a walnut framed oversized single mirror above the sinks. This large mirror helps reflect the natural lite around the room. Above the mirror we places three milk glass orb pendants for design style and task lighting.

When walking into this bathroom through the new doors, you are greeted with wall-to-wall and floor-to-ceiling stone tiles. This is the wow moment. By taking the tiles across the entire wall and up to the ceiling, this bathroom feels wider and taller. This was an important accomplishment since we could not change the size of the room.

We used angled charcoal tile set in a 50% offset patter to achieve this unique patter on the floor. The subtle details set this design apart from the rest. By layering in a traditional oriental rug, we were able to play with that mid-century homeyness of the time.

When we removed the old shower enclosure, the vaulted ceiling we exposed needed a good sanding and a fresh finish to bring it back to it’s original glory.

Clean, modern matte black shower head and hand wand suites the homeowners modern needs.

A set of three pendant lights above the vanity provides light and unique design details.

The ceiling line from the bedroom continues into and through the bathroom, connecting the two space seamlessly.

This is one of the best blends of modern design with mid-century aesthetics.

Outside of the bedroom we added a new entry light fixture to provide some much-needed illumination and statement as gusts walk in.

The second bathroom in the house we updated was the powder bath. Before there was a small enclosed shower. bulkheads, and no lighting. We expanded the shower, took out the drop ceiling, and brightened the space with white tiles and bright lights.

We took out the old linoleum floors and replaced them with a terrazzo tile to stay true to that mid-century aesthetic. To crown the space, we decided to put an architectural light fixture in the corner. I love the touch of uniqueness and out-of-the-box style.

We embraced the asymmetrical design of this mid-century modern walnut vanity with vessel sink. The shaped mirror connects with the unique frosted glass shade of the artistic light fixture.

This sculptural MCM hanging pendant boasts a big impact with it’s unique shape and mixed metal combination.

We love the design detail of the exposed pipe rain shower system in gold. It’s classic yet modern.
